Main Goal
Make sure suppliers can deliver the right quality parts, on time, and without issues.
Key Responsibilities
✅ Audit Suppliers
- Check if suppliers meet quality standards.
- Assess new and existing suppliers.
✅ Evaluate Manufacturing Capability
- Review if suppliers can make parts according to drawings and specifications.
- Identify potential risks before production starts.
✅ Manage Supplier Projects & Changes
- Track supplier progress on new projects.
- Ensure engineering changes are implemented correctly.
✅ Handle Urgent Situations
- Ensure suppliers can quickly provide parts when there is critical equipment downtime or urgent demand.
✅ Drive Quality Improvement
- Conduct First Article Inspection (FAI).
- Investigate quality issues and lead corrective actions using 8D, 5 Why, etc.
- Monitor supplier performance (quality, delivery, responsiveness).
Required Skills
- Knowledge of ISO 9001, IATF 16949, VDA 6.3
- Ability to read engineering drawings and GD&T
- Problem-solving skills using:
- 8D
- 5 Why
- Fishbone
- FMEA
- CAPA
- Familiar with supplier quality tools:
- PPAP
- APQP
- SPC
- MSA
- FAI
- Control Plan
- Good communication and project management skills
